What should i do leh? My Yang refused to study but not rejected to go to school.
The nursery teacher complaint to me that my Yang refused to learn. He argued with the teachers! He told his teacher that he wants to play only. :(
I am so headaches with him. Till today, maximum 3 fresh cards only!
The teacher told me that they have to push him a bit and hope that i understand. I told them please do so as i am pushing him at home too. No more toys (cars, etc) for him only reading and some educational toys (matching cards, puzzle, trace the line, etc) for him now! I have to do so. I am not expecting he become a genius but at least at his age he knew 1-10 and A to Z mah.
em... What should i do leh?

You mean Yang still don't know 1-10 and A-Z yet??? He looked really smart the other time we met up so I am sure he already knows his ABC and 123 well by now.
Probably he just being playful...
Kawan, Yang only 3 years old leh. Let him play lor. Even though I thought kids normally knows ABC and 123 by then, I think you didn't expose him to Barney shows or those kids programs lar. You just give him chinese ones issit? Try that and I bet he knows his ABC and 1-10 within days. *wink*
Angeleyes and allthingspurple,
Aiyo... since he was a baby i started playing flash cards with him. Red dots, chinese words, and even english words! but ho... he is not interesting at all!
Teacher pushed him a bit in this 2 days, and he can recognise 1 - 5 liao.
My Yang just too lazy to learn i think. I just scare he got the symptom - difficulty in learning. "touch wood!"
Maybe try let him learning while playing first? Make the learning environment more enjoyable...
In nursery, from 830-10am, he enjoying the play time. After tea break, 1030 - 1200noon he need to start learning something. That's why he argued wt teacher that why he can't continue playing! See,my son!
May be he is not ready yet?? My boy already 4 plus, still cannot recognized all the alphabets and number also until 6 only. Boys are a little slow
Read with him, dear!
Reading helps him to cool down, sit down and prepares him for the school environment. Forget the flashcards...
Buy the Ladybird bookslah and soon he'll pick up all the needs and enjoy doing it :)
